Job Title: Systems Administrator
Role Summary: Manage, monitor, and maintain enterprise IT infrastructure, ensuring reliable operation of servers, storage, networking, and associated services. Provide technical support and administer security, backup, and patching processes.
Expectations:
- Deliver consistent system uptime and performance.
- Apply proactive monitoring and automated remedial actions.
- Coordinate with DevOps, security, and application teams to support deployment pipelines.
- Maintain documentation and compliance with internal IT standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Install, configure, and upgrade operating systems (Windows, Linux, BSD).
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and authentication services.
- Administer local, domain, or cloud-based file and print services.
- Implement and test backup and disaster‑recovery plans.
- Apply security patches and harden systems against vulnerabilities.
- Monitor system logs, performance metrics, and produce incident reports.
- Resolve tier‑2 support tickets and provide escalation support to vendors when necessary.
- Conduct capacity planning and recommend hardware/software upgrades.
- Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and company policies.
Required Skills:
- Proficient in Windows Server (AD, GPO, IIS) and Linux/Unix administration.
- Strong scripting knowledge (PowerShell, Bash, Python, or similar).
- Experience with virtualization platforms (VMware ESXi, Hyper‑V, KVM) and container orchestration (K8s) is a plus.
- Familiarity with network protocols, routing, and firewall configuration.
- Knowledge of backup solutions (Veeam, Windows Server Backup, etc.) and data protection strategies.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software, or network issues.
- Good communication skills for documentation and cross‑team collaboration.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Industry certifications such as MCP, MCSE, Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE), CompTIA Server+, or Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate strengthen candidacy.
