**Job Title** Senior Data Scientist **Role Summary** Lead the development and application of rigorous analytical standards for evaluating high‑stakes AI systems. Own end‑to‑end processes—methodology design, regulatory translation, audit execution, and strategic foresight—to ensure fair, transparent, and defensible AI assessment. Collaborate across founders, engineering, and customers to shape analytical function and product direction. **Expectations** - Demonstrated senior‑level experience (5+ years) with deep expertise in one or more domains: responsible AI fairness, HR/I‑O analytics, or high‑stakes statistical analysis. - Ability to quickly build domain competence across all areas, working through ambiguity and structuring open problems. - Strong evidence‑driven mindset: produce defensible, reproducible results, and communicate findings succinctly to varied audiences. - High agency in an early‑stage environment: shape data capabilities, analytical standards, and product roadmap. **Key Responsibilities** 1. **Methodology Leadership** – Define statistical tests, fairness metrics, sampling strategies, and evaluation frameworks; embed validation for reproducibility. 2. **Regulatory & Standard Translation** – Convert legal, HR, and AI governance guidelines into clear audit procedures and criteria. 3. **Audit Design & Execution** – Build datasets, test frameworks, workflows, and analysis patterns for consistent, high‑quality audits. 4. **Strategic Vision** – Identify emerging risks, regulatory shifts, and industry trends; recommend evolution of AI assurance approach over 12–24 months. 5. **Data Capability Roadmap** – Anticipate data assets and analytical foundations needed as products and regulations grow. 6. **Result Interpretation** – Set evidence thresholds, uncertainty handling, and communication principles; ensure findings are clear and actionable. 7. **Stakeholder Engagement** – Provide technical authority in high‑stakes conversations; address detailed queries and support decision‑making. 8. **External Credibility** – Author internal documentation, whitepapers, and blog posts to establish thought leadership and trust. **Required Skills** - 5+ years of senior analytical experience in AI fairness, responsible AI, HR/I‑O analytics, or regulated statistical work. - Advanced statistical reasoning with proven defensible, reproducible analysis. - Proficient in Python for data preparation, statistical analysis, and reproducible workflows. - Strong written and verbal communication; ability to simplify complex concepts for technical and non‑technical audiences. - Collaborative mindset; experience working closely with founders, product, and engineering teams. - Comfort with open‑ended problems, uncertainty, and structuring solutions. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Statistics, Data Science, Machine Learning, Economics, Industrial‑Organizational Psychology, or a related quantitative field. - Advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) preferred, especially in Machine Learning, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, or Psychology. - Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Analytics Professional, TensorFlow or PyTorch certificates) are an advantage but not mandatory.
