Job Description
**Job Title:** Computer Vision / Deep Learning Data Scientist **Role Summary:** Develop and deploy state‑of‑the‑art computer vision and deep learning solutions to automate road and pavement condition assessment. Lead research, model training, and evaluation on petabyte‑scale imagery, translating research outcomes into production‑grade software for infrastructure monitoring. **Expectations:** - Deliver innovative algorithms that improve accuracy of automated road surveys. - Translate research prototypes into maintainable, scalable commercial applications. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data strategies and performance metrics. - Maintain expertise in current deep learning trends and industry best practices. **Key Responsibilities:** - Conduct research in object detection, image segmentation, multi‑view analysis, SLAM, or 3D reconstruction for infrastructure surveying. - Design, train, validate, and tune deep learning models using large photo‑geographic datasets. - Implement algorithms for street‑side inventory detection and assessment. - Develop end‑to‑end solutions that automate and accelerate human survey tasks. - Integrate models into commercial software pipelines and ensure robustness at scale. - Analyze model performance, diagnose weaknesses, and iterate improvements. **Required Skills:** - Proficiency in Python and deep learning frameworks (PyTorch, TensorFlow, etc.). - Strong analytical abilities for model diagnostics and performance optimization. - Experience with geospatial data processing is advantageous. - Proven track record of building production‑ready ML software. - Familiarity with large‑scale data handling and infrastructure monitoring workflows. **Required Education & Certifications:** - PhD, Master’s, or equivalent degree in Computer Vision, Machine Learning, Robotics, or a related field. - Demonstrated expertise in at least two of the following: object detection, image segmentation, SLAM, multi‑view analysis, 3D reconstruction, or large‑scale ML deployment.
