The Derbyshire Cricket Foundation is a dedicated charity that uses the power of sport to educate, motivate and inspire the people of Derbyshire. The Foundation is based at The Incora County Ground, Derby, and it is where all of our charitable activities are co-ordinated. We provide an inclusive range of projects and activities that aim to involve and engage hard-to-reach groups, in an effort to improve community cohesion. The Foundation also hopes to empower leaders, coaches and volunteers.

Job Description
Job title: Business Development Manager Role Summary: Drive revenue growth and partnership development for a cricket foundation, securing corporate sponsorships, individual donations, trusts and foundations to fund community programs. Manage donor stewardship, craft proposals, reports and maintain compliance with governance standards. Expectations: • Cultivate and sustain high‑value relationships with corporate, individual and foundation stakeholders. • Lead fundraising strategy implementation and measure impact. • Travel within Derbyshire and attend occasional evening/weekend events. Key Responsibilities: 1. Develop and execute a comprehensive fundraising strategy aligned with the organization’s goals. 2. Identify, prospect, and secure new sponsorships, donor contributions and grant funding. 3. Create tailored cultivation plans, proposals, presentations and impact reports. 4. Manage stewardship, communication and recognition processes for all partners. 5. Collaborate with program teams to align funding opportunities with community initiatives. 6. Ensure all fundraising activities comply with charity governance, financial controls and reporting requirements. 7. Provide leadership to junior staff or volunteers involved in fundraising and partnership activities. 8. Maintain accurate records and dashboards to track pipeline, commitments and outcomes. Required Skills: • Proven relationship management and networking abilities. • Fundraising and proposal development expertise. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Financial acumen and budgeting knowledge. • Project management and organizational skills. • Understanding of charity law, governance and compliance. • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across multiple stakeholders. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or related field. • Minimum of 3‑5 years’ experience in fundraising or business development within a charity or non‑profit setting. • Recognized fundraising accreditation (e.g., IFRC, NRF, or equivalent) is a plus.
