Head of Software Engineering
**Role Summary**
Lead the transformation of a technology function from outsourced delivery to a scalable, in‑house engineering organization. Drive product‑centric culture, embed AI‑enabled tooling, enforce security and compliance, and shape technology strategy across front‑end, back‑end and DevOps.
**Expectations**

- Transition critical workloads from partners to internal staff safely and sustainably.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect and execute the transition plan from outsourced to in‑house engineering.
- Recruit, mentor, and retain talent focused on quality, learning, and impact.
- Foster a product‑thinking mindset: involve engineers in discovery, experimentation, and user‑centric iteration.
- Set pragmatic engineering standards, processes, and tooling that accelerate delivery without compromising quality.
- Own platform reliability, security, compliance, and risk management.
- Evaluate and evolve the Microsoft‑based stack, lead build‑vs‑buy decisions, and introduce new technologies that deliver tangible benefits.
- Actively participate in code reviews, architecture discussions, and unblock teams when necessary.
- Communicate engineering priorities to senior leadership and align them with business goals.
- Continuously improve engineering culture, metrics, and performance.
**Required Skills**
- Proven experience leading engineering orgs through large‑scale transitions.
- Strong foundation in full‑stack development, architecture, and DevOps.
- Demonstrated product‑driven leadership with measurable business impact.
- Hands‑on technical skills: modern front‑end frameworks, back‑end services, CI/CD, cloud, and security best practices.
- Practical knowledge of AI, ML, and related tooling for software delivery.
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity, change, and cross‑functional collaboration.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related discipline.
- Desired certifications: Cloud (AWS, Azure, GCP), Security (CISSP, SOC2), or AI/ML (AWS AI/ML, Microsoft AI).
