Job Description

Job title: Senior Software Engineer, Backend Role Summary: Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance, cloud‑native backend services within a SaaS travel platform. Lead architecture decisions, mentor peers, and drive engineering excellence across cross‑functional teams. Expactations: • Minimum 4 years of professional software development in product or SaaS environments. • Strong command of data structures, algorithms, and Java (other languages acceptable). • Proven experience with distributed systems, scalable API design, and cloud infrastructure. • Demonstrated ability to architect, code, test, review, and deploy reliable services. • Experience mentoring or coaching junior engineers and fostering a collaborative culture. Key Responsibilities: • Architect and implement robust backend services with a focus on scalability and reliability. • Independently own critical projects, setting technical direction and ensuring delivery quality. • Conduct code reviews, enforce coding standards, and promote best practices in testing and debugging. • Collaborate with product, design, and other engineering teams to translate requirements into technical solutions. • Mentor engineering talent, share knowledge, and contribute to team growth initiatives. Required Skills: • 4+ years of backend software engineering experience. • Proficiency in Java; familiarity with additional languages is a plus. • Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and cloud‑native architecture. • Strong algorithmic thinking and data‑structure knowledge. • Experience with API design, versioning, and performance tuning. • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes). • Solid communication skills and a collaborative mindset. Required Education & Certifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field, or equivalent professional experience. • Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, GCP, Azure) or distributed systems are advantageous but not mandatory.
