**Job Title**
Lead AI Engineer
**Role Summary**
Architect and lead the development of Virtuoso QA’s Agentic and autonomous testing platform. Oversee backend system design, AI integration (LLMs, vector search, agent orchestration), and microservices deployment in a cloud‑native SaaS environment. Lead R&D, mentor a high‑performance engineering team, and collaborate closely with product, design, and research stakeholders to deliver scalable, production‑grade AI features.

- Deliver robust, observable, and scalable backend services that integrate advanced AI models.
- Set engineering standards, ensure code quality, and foster a culture of continuous learning.
- Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed engineering team while maintaining high productivity.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to translate research and user needs into market‑ready features.
**Key Responsibilities**
1. Architect and implement backend microservices (Java/Go) powering autonomous testing.
2. Lead R&D and productization of AI techniques: LLMs, RAG, vector databases, agentic frameworks.
3. Translate research prototypes into scalable, production‑grade systems.
4. Build, deploy, and maintain resilient, observable, and performant services in a cloud SaaS context.
5. Mentor engineering staff, set technical standards, and drive continuous improvement.
6. Work with product, design, and AI research to shape the product roadmap and deliver user‑focused features.
7. Optionally oversee front‑end integration in Vue.js when required.
**Required Skills**
- Advanced expertise in Java backend development; familiarity with Go is beneficial.
- Deep knowledge of distributed systems, event‑driven architectures, and cloud‑native SaaS practices.
- Hands‑on experience with LLMs, Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG), vector databases, and agentic AI orchestration frameworks.
- Proficiency with Redis, PostgreSQL, AWS or containerized service environments.
- Understanding of test automation domain (strong plus).
- Knowledge of Vue.js or front‑end development is an advantage but not mandatory.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, or a closely related field.
- 8+ years of backend software engineering experience, including 4+ years of leadership/mentoring roles.
- Demonstrated experience in AI/ML system development, microservices architecture, and cloud SaaS environments.
