Job Description
**Job Title**: Environmental Toxicology M2 Internship (GC‑MS/MS Technique Development) **Role Summary** Graduate internship (M2) in analytical environmental toxicology focused on developing a GC‑MS/MS method for quantifying 30 pesticides in dust collected on wipes. The role involves optimizing extraction protocols, validating the analytical technique per EMA guidelines, and ensuring accurate, reliable pesticide measurements. **Expactations** - Completion of a 6‑month internship (Feb/Mar – June/Sept 2026). - Deliver a validated, EMA‑compliant GC‑MS/MS method for pesticide analysis in wipe‑derived dust. - Produce detailed validation reports, including linearity, LOD/LOQ, accuracy, precision, and matrix effects. - Communicate findings clearly to supervisors and contribute to laboratory documentation. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Design and optimize extraction procedures for pesticides from wipe matrices. 2. Develop and fine‑tune GC‑MS/MS parameters (column, temperature program, ionization, transitions). 3. Perform method validation (linearity, limits of quantification, repeatability, reproducibility). 4. Analyze compliance with EMA analytical validation recommendations. 5. Document protocols, results, and quality control procedures. 6. Collaborate with laboratory staff for sample preparation and data interpretation. 7. Present progress and final validation outcomes to the supervising scientists. **Required Skills** - Proficient in analytical chemistry concepts, particularly GC‑MS/MS operation. - Familiarity with environmental sample matrices and pesticide analysis. - Knowledge of extraction techniques and sample cleanup procedures. - Ability to conduct method validation (statistical analysis, QC). - Strong written and verbal communication for technical reporting. - Detail-oriented with systematic laboratory documentation practices. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current Master’s level (M2) student in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Environmental Science, Toxicology, or related field. - Coursework or experience in chromatographic techniques (GC, LC) and mass spectrometry. - Understanding of EMA or equivalent regulatory guidelines for analytical method validation (preferred). ---
