LEBC hold the contract to deliver the National Citizen Service in Leicester and Leicestershire and see over 1,000 teens take part in the programme each year. Job Description
Job title Health and Safety Assessor Role Summary Conduct health, safety and welfare assessments at businesses prior to student work experience and educational placements. Build relationships with employers, advise on regulatory guidance, and identify opportunities to expand placement and apprenticeship programmes. Expectations - Maintain accurate records of assessments and risk controls. - Meet agreed visit and reporting targets. - Travel extensively within the local area and occasionally to wider regional sites. - Participate in team meetings and contribute to service improvement. - Adhere to safeguarding protocols, including Enhanced DBS requirements. Key Responsibilities - Schedule and conduct site visits to assess health, safety, child protection, and data protection compliance. - Evaluate risk levels (low, medium, high) and recommend appropriate controls. - Collaborate with employers to agree on placement types, learning outcomes and role descriptors. - Identify and promote additional services such as apprenticeship recruitment and basic safety training. - Complete online pro forma documentation with high accuracy. - Encourage employers to submit evaluation feedback and monitor service quality. - Expand the network of placement partners and support the growth of apprenticeship and CSR initiatives. - Attend training, conferences and meetings as required. Required Skills - Strong analytical and risk assessment abilities. - Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills. - Ability to build and maintain professional relationships. - Detail-oriented record‑keeping and reporting proficiency. - Proactive in identifying improvements and new opportunities. Required Education & Certifications - Relevant degree or equivalent qualification in health and safety, occupational safety, or a related field. - Current full driving licence and access to a private vehicle. - Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain). - Additional health and safety training or certifications (e.g., NEBOSH, IOSH) considered an asset.
