Job Description
**Job title** Senior Security Architect & Cyber Lead – North America **Role Summary** Lead the design, deployment, and governance of cybersecurity architecture across Canada and the United States. Own the development of repeatable security patterns and guardrails, guide cross‑border Digital teams, and ensure all solutions meet regulatory, legislative, and risk tolerance requirements. Manage a cybersecurity team, collaborate with IT leadership, and maintain relationships with key governmental stakeholders to protect sensitive data and enable secure innovation. **Expectations** - Deliver secure, compliant architectural solutions that align with business needs and a defined risk appetite. - Maintain a federal Secret security clearance and uphold all contractual and regulatory obligations. - Demonstrate proactive leadership, influencing cross‑functional teams, and fostering a culture of security maturity across the organization. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Design and codify standard, repeatable security solutions/patterns and guardrails for internal and product solutions. 2. Translate security policies, threat models, and regulatory requirements into architectural controls that mitigate risks. 3. Evaluate and embed applicable legal and regulatory requirements into security architectures and patterns. 4. Review and assess technology solution architectures and technical designs against security standards and best practices; provide actionable feedback to architects and designers. 5. Advise project and acquisition teams on security requirements in line with the organization’s threat and risk posture. 6. Deliver subject‑matter expertise and knowledge transfer to technology teams to elevate overall security maturity. 7. Manage stakeholder relationships for security solutions; build productive collaborations with project teams and senior stakeholders. 8. Engage with government contacts to ensure security strategies comply with contractual obligations and public sector expectations. **Required Skills** - Minimum 5 years in senior security architecture or equivalent cyber role. - Proven domain experience in information security, policy interpretation, and compliance. - Strong leadership, communication, organizational, influencing, and interpersonal skills. - Advanced negotiation and relationship‑building capabilities. - Proficiency with cloud technologies, especially Azure, and zero‑trust concepts. - Analytical ability to translate risk profiles and legislation into secure designs. **Required Education & Certifications** - Federal Secret security clearance (mandatory). - Preferred certifications: CISSP, CISA/M, SABSA, TOGAF, or equivalent. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or related field (preferred).
