**Job Title:** Network Administrator
**Role Summary:**
Contract network administrator responsible for designing, deploying, monitoring, and maintaining enterprise network infrastructure. Ensures reliability, performance, and security while supporting hybrid on‑site and remote operations.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver high‑availability network services with minimal downtime.
- Enforce security policies and compliance.
- Proactively monitor and troubleshoot network issues.
- Maintain accurate documentation and change logs.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Design and implement LAN/WAN, VPN, and SD‑WAN solutions.
- Configure routers, switches, firewalls, and monitoring tools.
- Monitor traffic, performance, and capacity; produce regular reports.
- Diagnose connectivity, latency, and packet‑loss issues.
- Apply patches, security updates, and firmware upgrades.
- Maintain topology maps, device inventories, and change‑management records.
- Collaborate with IT, security, and business teams; support vendor coordination.
**Required Skills:**
- In‑depth knowledge of TCP/IP, OSPF, BGP, STP, VLAN, and NAT.
- Hands‑on experience with Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, or Fortinet devices.
- Proficient with Wireshark, ping, traceroute, and other diagnostic tools.
- Strong understanding of network security (ACLs, NGFW, IDS/IPS).
- System administration on Windows and Linux servers.
- Familiarity with monitoring platforms (SolarWinds, PRTG, Nagios).
- Excellent troubleshooting, communication, documentation, and teamwork abilities.
- Capability to work independently in a hybrid environment.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field preferred.
- Cisco CCNA or CompTIA Network+ mandatory; CCNP or security certifications (CISSP, CEH) a plus.
- Prior IT consulting or network‑administration experience.
