Job Description
**Job Title:** Machine Learning Engineer **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and deploy state‑of‑the‑art machine‑learning models and evaluation pipelines for AI‑enabled medical devices. Collaborate with clinicians, AI researchers, and software engineers to create robust datasets, build agentic systems, and ensure compliance with regulated environments. **Expectations:** - 3+ years of experience delivering production‑ready ML software. - Ability to create and curate high‑quality datasets and custom evaluation metrics. - Proven track record of fine‑tuning large models, troubleshooting GPU issues, and orchestrating multi‑agent architectures. - Strong problem‑solving mindset, curiosity about real‑world impact, and adherence to regulatory standards. **Key Responsibilities:** - Build and maintain production pipelines for ML models used in medical‑device certification. - Develop agentic document‑search and evidence‑gathering systems across heterogeneous data sources. - Design and implement evaluation frameworks integrated with certification workflows (e.g., IoU, precision/recall, human‑agreement metrics). - Align AI outputs with impartiality and objectivity requirements of a regulated agency. - Create, clean, and annotate datasets tailored to business needs. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to prototype, validate, and monitor AI solutions. - Ensure software compliance with medical‑device and other relevant regulations. **Required Skills:** - Deep learning, statistics, and ML fundamentals. - Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (TensorFlow, PyTorch, etc.). - Experience with LLM fine‑tuning, GPU optimization, and distributed systems. - Strong data engineering skills for handling messy, real‑world datasets. - Software engineering best practices: version control, CI/CD, testing, containerization. - Ability to design custom evaluation metrics and conduct statistical analysis. - Excellent communication and collaborative abilities. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Statistics, or related field (Master’s preferred). - Familiarity with medical‑device regulations (e.g., FDA, EU MDR) or certifications is a plus. - Relevant ML/AI certifications (e.g., TensorFlow Developer, AWS ML Specialty) optional but beneficial.
