**Job Title:** DevOps Engineer
**Role Summary:**
Design, automate, and maintain AWS-based cloud infrastructure for a multi‑year federal program. Drive IaC, CI/CD, and automation to support enterprise applications and a microservices ecosystem.
**Expectations:**
* 5+ years of application development or infrastructure engineering.
* 2–4 years of hands‑on DevOps experience in AWS environments.
* Strong knowledge of Agile/SAFe practices.
**Key Responsibilities:**
* Collaborate daily in an Agile DevOps team; participate in all development phases.
* Build and manage Infrastructure as Code with Terraform and Ansible across AWS services.
* Develop and enhance CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins, GitHub, and container platforms.
* Configure and maintain F5 LTM/APM, write and debug iRules for traffic routing and security.
* Ensure CMS security, compliance, and governance standards are met.
* Support application operations, on‑call rotation, high‑availability, and reliability tasks.
* Execute patches, upgrades, deployments, and continuity‑of‑operations activities.
* Create and maintain documentation: architecture diagrams, runbooks, procedures.
* Partner with architects and product teams to prototype new solutions and translate requirements into technical specifications.
**Required Skills:**
* AWS cloud expertise: EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, DynamoDB, S3, SQS, SNS, Route53, VPC, ELB/NLB, KMS, EFS, AWS Serverless, IAM, automation/configuration best practices.
* F5 BIG‑IP (LTM/APM) configuration, load‑balancing, iRules development.
* IaC: Terraform, Ansible.
* Containerization & orchestration: Docker, Kubernetes.
* CI/CD tooling: Jenkins, GitHub, Bitbucket.
* Linux (RedHat) administration; troubleshooting of system‑level and application‑level issues.
* Microservices, API gateway (Kong, etc.), authentication/authorization standards (Okta, OIDC, SAML).
* Debugging Java, Node.js, Python from an infrastructure perspective.
* Database experience: PostgreSQL, other RDBMS, DynamoDB.
* Observability & monitoring: Splunk, New Relic, Datadog, AWS DevOps Guru, AWS Forecast.
* Performance monitoring, resource optimization.
* Strong problem‑solving, analytical, and communication skills.
* Experience in Agile SAFe, Jira, Slack.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
* Bachelor’s degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.).
* No specific certifications required, though AWS, Kubernetes, or related DevOps credentials are a plus.
