Job Description
Job Title: Management Accountant Role Summary: Partner with operational leaders to drive commercial performance through forecasting, KPI reporting, profitability analysis, and budgeting. Own month‑end processes, manage project and capital financing, and lead improvements in financial discipline and system efficiency. Expectations: Deliver accurate financial insights that influence strategic and operational decisions, maintain strong stakeholder relationships, and demonstrate proactive problem‑solving. Manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines while upholding high data integrity and regulatory compliance. Key Responsibilities: • Prepare weekly forecasts and monthly P&L reviews, providing actionable commentary to management. • Own KPI reporting, challenge cost trends, and recommend corrective actions. • Support tender preparation and new business acquisition. • Conduct month‑end close: accruals, prepayments, WIP reviews, and inventory assessments. • Lead the budgeting process and monitor budget versus actual. • Drive improvements in WIP, aged receivables, and overall financial discipline. • Review capital expenditure approvals and monitor project finances to ensure on‑time, on‑budget delivery. • Ensure timely, accurate invoicing and cash‑flow management. • Perform ad‑hoc analytical requests to inform operational decisions. • Identify and implement enhancements to systems, processes, and controls. Required Skills: • Strong analytical and financial modelling expertise. • Advanced Excel proficiency (pivot tables, macros, vlookup). • Excellent communication and stakeholder liaison skills. • Ability to challenge and influence cross‑functional teams. • Highly organised, detail‑oriented, and able to work under pressure. Required Education & Certifications: • Newly qualified or final‑stage CIMA / ACCA / ACA. • UK driving licence.
