Job Description

**Job title** PLC Software Engineer **Role Summary** Design, program, and configure PLC and related automation systems across the product life cycle. Lead integration with control, HMI, and telematics systems, troubleshoot and optimize logic, and document solutions. Mentor peers and support quality, safety, and regulatory compliance. **Expectations** - Deliver high‑quality, reliable control logic that meets operational and safety standards. - Maintain rigorous documentation and version control. - Work cross‑functionally to integrate PLCs with electrical, mechanical, and software components. - Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Design, program, and configure PLC systems for complex automation requirements. 2. Integrate PLCs with broader control systems, HMI interfaces, and telematics modules. 3. Analyze, debug, test, and tune control logic to enhance performance and reliability. 4. Troubleshoot system failures, implement corrective actions, and minimize downtime. 5. Create and maintain detailed documentation: wiring diagrams, ladder logic, I/O configuration, and version histories. 6. Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, safety interlocks, and industry regulations. 7. Mentor teammates, provide technical direction, and support project lifecycle activities. **Required Skills** - Proficiency with IEC 61131-3 standards and PLC programming. - Advanced knowledge of Codesys, real‑time debugging, control loop tuning, and signal processing. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving capabilities for multi‑PLC architectures. - Excellent written and verbal communication; adept at collaboration across disciplines. - Experience with design‑software tools for automation, CAD integration, and version control. **Required Education & Certifications** - HND or equivalent in electronic/electrical engineering (or equivalent professional experience). - Minimum 5 years of design‑software experience with complex automation systems. - Relevant certifications (e.g., PLC programming, Codesys, IEC 61131‑3) preferred. ---
