Job Description
**Job Title:** Junior Cloud DevOps Engineer **Role Summary:** Support rapid “lift‑and‑shift” migrations of on‑premises workloads to AWS, assist in building and maintaining automated, secure, and cost‑effective cloud infrastructure, and contribute to CI/CD pipeline management and cloud modernization within Agile teams. **Expectations:** - U.S. citizen with at least three continuous years of U.S. residency. - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. - Minimum 6 years of cloud/DevOps experience, primarily on AWS. - Hold AWS Associate‑level certification and Terraform Associate certification. - Ability to obtain and maintain a government security credential. **Key Responsibilities:** - Execute lift‑and‑shift migrations of physical/on‑prem infrastructure to AWS. - Develop and maintain automation tools for provisioning, monitoring, auditing, and de‑provisioning AWS resources. - Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab Runners). - Apply Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, CloudFormation, or AWS CDK. - Configure and automate environments with Ansible (or similar). - Troubleshoot cloud‑based applications and provide tier‑1/2 support. - Document designs, processes, and operational procedures. - Identify and apply FinOps cost‑optimization strategies. - Participate in Agile ceremonies (sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, retrospectives). **Required Skills:** - AWS services (EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, RDS, etc.) and security best practices. - IaC expertise: Terraform (mandatory), AWS CloudFormation/AWS CDK. - CI/CD pipeline creation and maintenance. - Configuration management (Ansible, Chef, or Puppet). - Scripting/automation (Python, Bash, PowerShell). - Containerization fundamentals (Docker, Kubernetes basics). - Strong troubleshooting, problem‑solving, and collaborative abilities. - Excellent written and verbal communication; technical documentation. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline. - AWS Certified DevOps Engineer – Associate, AWS Certified Solutions Architect – Associate, or AWS Certified Developer – Associate (any one). - Terraform Associate certification (required). - Additional AWS specialty or professional certifications are preferred but not mandatory.
