Job Description

Job Title: Cell Bank Technician Role Summary: Manage the receipt, storage, and banking of biological samples and cell lines, ensuring compliance with biosafety, quality, and traceability standards in a pharmaceutical laboratory setting. Expactations: Maintain sample integrity, adhere to HSE and biosafety regulations, provide accurate documentation, and collaborate effectively with supply and quality teams. Key Responsibilities: - Receive and open cold shipments, remove ice packs, and handle containers. - Verify sample details against delivery notes, confirm quantity, and ensure correct labeling. - Store samples at specified temperatures and update traceability databases. - Serve as primary liaison with the sample procurement manager and coordinate with Biologic Supply staff. - Perform banking of cell lines: preparation, expansion, cryopreservation, and basic QC (viability, morphology, contamination checks). - Use IT tools (Excel, internal databases) to record and track sample data. - Follow strict HSE and biosafety protocols. Required Skills: - Proficiency in sample handling and cell culture techniques. - Knowledge of biosafety and HSE regulations. - Strong attention to detail, organizational and autonomous working style. - Effective communication, responsiveness, adaptability, and teamwork. - Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and database management. Required Education & Certifications: - BAC +2/3 (Associate Degree or Higher) in Biology, Biotechnology, or a related field. - Prior experience in cell culture (internship or employment) is an advantage.
