Job Description
**Job Title:** Bioanalytical Chemist (Research Associate) **Role Summary:** Deliver analytical expertise in sample preparation, LC‑MS/MS analysis, and protocol development for clinical hormone and lipid biomarker studies. Provide critical data support to the biosensor R&D team, ensuring method validation, instrument maintenance, and compliance with SOP standards. **Expectations:** - 6‑month fixed‑term contract with full‑time commitment. - On‑site laboratory work, interfacing directly with R&D stakeholders. - Deliver quantifiable, reproducible data on steroid hormones and related analytes. - Contribute to process optimisation, method validation, and documentation. **Key Responsibilities:** - Perform extraction, purification, and LC‑MS/MS analysis of clinical samples (serum, plasma, urine). - Design, optimise, and validate high‑throughput protocols for hormone identification and quantification. - Calibrate, maintain, and troubleshoot HPLC and triple‑quadrupole mass spectrometry equipment. - Draft and update SOPs, analytical reports, and validation documentation. - Manage consumables, coordinate instrument orders, and support instrument installation and maintenance. - Collaborate with biosensor R&D on sample matrix optimisation and data integration. - Ensure compliance with laboratory safety and quality standards. **Required Skills:** - Proficient in analytical chemistry techniques: LC‑MS/MS, SPE, HPLC. - Strong experience with lipid, steroid hormone, or steroid‑like analyte analysis in biological matrices. - Skilled in sample extraction, separation, and quantification. - Instrument calibration, maintenance, and related documentation. - Data analysis and report writing. - Excellent written and verbal communication. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Master’s or Ph.D. in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, or related discipline. - Background in biological science and statistical analysis. - Postdoctoral experience (academic or industrial) preferred. - Right to work in the United Kingdom. ---
