Job Description
Job Title: Territory Manager – Outside Sales Role Summary: Drive new freight business for a national logistics provider by prospecting, qualifying, and closing accounts within a defined territory. Manage client relationships, maintain accurate CRM records, and make independent sales decisions to meet or exceed growth targets. Expactations: - Consistently achieve new‑business sales goals and profit benchmarks. - Independently manage daily workload and prioritize tasks in a high‑pace environment. - Maintain current, detailed client and prospect data in the CRM system. - Exercise sound judgment in decision making that supports company objectives. Key Responsibilities: - Prospect and develop new business through calls, emails, networking, and industry events. - Conduct on‑site client meetings, including office, warehouse, and plant tours. - Evaluate potential accounts for profitability and strategic fit. - Enter and update all contact, opportunity, and sales activity data in the CRM. - Participate in ongoing training and development sessions. - Use own vehicle for travel within the assigned territory. Required Skills: - 1–2 years of sales experience; logistics or freight sales preferred. - Strong sales, negotiation, and customer‑service skills. - Excellent organization, record keeping, and attention to detail. - Analytical and problem‑solving capabilities. - Ability to work well under pressure and in a fast‑moving environment. - Strong interpersonal and professional demeanor. - Basic business and financial acumen. - Multi‑tasking and prioritization of daily duties. - Valid driver’s licence, reliable vehicle, and proof of insurance. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, or related field preferred (equivalent sales experience acceptable). - No specific certifications required.
