Job Description
Job title KIPP Forward Director Role Summary Lead the creation and expansion of a college and career readiness program for 9th‑grade students, establishing systems, culture, and data practices that support student success and department growth. Expectations - Founding and scaling a new counseling department from Year 1 onward. - Build and sustain high-performing teams, ensuring long‑term program sustainability. - Align program vision with school academic and cultural goals. - Maintain partnership with families, students, and external college/career partners. Key Responsibilities - Serve as primary counselor for 9th‑grade cohort, conduct individual advising, and monitor credit, certification, and GPA progress. - Design, implement, and refine advising protocols, data tracking, and family engagement strategies that are scalable to higher grades. - Hire, onboard, coach, and provide professional development for counseling staff; plan retreats and succession planning. - Coordinate school‑wide college/career exposure events, workshops, and off‑campus visits. - Analyze student data, identify trends, and present actionable insights to leadership. - Oversee PSAT 8/9 administration, SAT prep execution, and related data analysis. - Manage course scheduling requests, credit recovery, and state assessment targets. - Facilitate communication with families regarding student progress and readiness.
