**Job Title:** Sales Operations Process Optimization Intern
**Role Summary:**
Supports the Sales organization by analyzing, documenting, and redesigning sales operations workflows, data flows, and forecasting processes. Works cross‑functionally with Sales, Program Management, Operations, Purchasing, Finance, and IT to standardize intake, qualification, and handoff procedures, and builds a semi‑automated forecasting tool in Excel or Smartsheet to improve data accuracy and pipeline visibility.
**Expectations:**
* Complete a defined 12‑week optimization project with weekly deliverables.
* Conduct stakeholder interviews, map current workflows, and create documentation.
* Design and implement standardized templates and Smartsheet processes.
* Develop forecasting workbook and dashboards.
* Maintain status updates and deliver a final project presentation to leadership.
* Adhere to all regulatory and company policy requirements.
**Key Responsibilities:**
1. Plan and execute a structured 12‑week sales operations improvement project.
2. Interview stakeholders across Sales, Program Management, Operations, Purchasing, Finance, and IT to capture current workflows.
3. Map data flows from Salesforce → Smartsheet → Plex and identify manual steps, errors, and rework.
4. Document required opportunity data fields for downstream teams.
5. Create standardized intake, qualification, and handoff templates.
6. Redesign Smartsheet tracking sheets to enforce consistent data entry and validation.
7. Define standardized opportunity stages, required fields, and role responsibilities.
8. Build a semi‑automated forecasting workbook using Excel/Smartsheet formulas, pivot tables, and probability logic.
9. Produce dashboards and visual reports for forecasting and pipeline visibility.
10. Deliver weekly status reports to mentors and stakeholders.
11. Prepare and present a comprehensive final project report highlighting findings, improvements, and recommendations.
12. Ensure compliance with federal, state, and company policies.
**Required Skills:**
* Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities.
* Advanced Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, formulas, data validation).
* Proficiency in Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
* Excellent written and verbal communication.
* Ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently.
* Familiarity with process mapping, Smartsheet, Salesforce, or basic automation tools (preferred).
**Required Education & Certifications:**
* Undergraduate student (Sophomore–Senior) pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, Systems Engineering, Business Analytics, Operations Management, Technical Sales, or a related field.
* Active enrollment in school.
* Minimum GPA of 3.0.
* Availability to work 30–40 hours per week.
