**Job title:** Data Scientist Intern **Role Summary:** Provide hands‑on support in data collection, cleaning, analysis, and modeling. Assist in building statistical and machine‑learning solutions, visualizing insights, and communicating findings to cross‑functional stakeholders. **Expactations:** - Complete at least one full internship term (10‑12 weeks). - Maintain consistent communication with team members and stakeholders. - Deliver documented processes and code that can be reused or expanded. - Adhere to project timelines and data integrity standards. **Key Responsibilities:** - Collect, clean, and preprocess large datasets from internal and external sources. - Develop and evaluate predictive models using algorithms such as linear regression, decision trees, random forests, or neural networks. - Create statistical analyses (descriptive, inferential) to uncover business insights. - Build dashboards or visualizations in Tableau, Power BI, or equivalent tools to present results. - Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to define data‑driven solutions to business challenges. - Document methodologies, code, and results for future reference. **Required Skills:** - Programming proficiency in Python or R. - Expertise in data manipulation libraries (Pandas, NumPy, dplyr, data.table). - Experience with machine‑learning frameworks (scikit‑learn, TensorFlow, Keras, caret). - Strong grasp of statistical concepts (probability, hypothesis testing, regression). - Ability to write clean, modular, and well‑documented code. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Team‑oriented mindset with ability to collaborate across functions. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Current enrollment in a bachelor’s program in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field. - Completed at least sophomore year (≥ 70% coursework completed). - Expected graduation date December 2026 or later. - Minimum age 18 years.
