Job Description: **Job Title:** Analytics Engineer **Role Summary:** Architects the data platform that turns operational and logistics data into a reliable “Source of Truth.” Designs, builds, and maintains production-grade data pipelines, dimensional models, and analytics-as-code using dbt, SQL, and Python. Ensures scalability, performance, and data quality while delivering a semantic layer that powers BI tools. **Expectations:** - 3–5 years in analytics or data engineering with proven experience building production pipelines. - Treat data models as software: focus on modularity, dry code, automated testing, and technical debt reduction. - Demonstrated ownership of the full ELT stack—extract, transform, load into a cloud warehouse. **Key Responsibilities:** 1. Lead architecture and evolution of the dbt project, designing modular, version‑controlled transformations and advanced dbt features (macros, packages, custom tests). 2. Design and implement robust dimensional models (Star Schema, Kimball/Inmon) bridging raw backend events to a semantic layer. 3. Own ELT processes: develop Python extractors for APIs, bridge ingestion gaps, and load data into BigQuery or Snowflake. 4. Optimize the semantic layer for BI tools such as Looker or Metabase, ensuring high performance and easy exploration. 5. Implement CI/CD pipelines, enforce documentation‑as‑code, and build automated data quality monitoring to preempt stakeholder anomalies. **Required Skills:** - dbt: advanced usage (snapshots, incremental models, DAG cost/speed optimization). - SQL: deep understanding of execution plans, partitioning, and scalable query design for billions of rows. - Python: scripting with Pandas/Polars, REST API integration, data manipulation. - Dimensional modeling: expertise in Kimball and Inmon methodologies, bridge tables vs. flattened views. - Git: fluent with branching strategies, pull‑request reviews, and collaborative workflows. - Cloud and orchestration (preferred): experience with GCP (BigQuery), Airflow, or Dagster. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field (preferred). - dbt Analytics Engineering Certification or equivalent (preferred).
