Job Title: AI Engineer
Role Summary:
Design, build, and optimize scalable, low‑latency AI inference microservices for high‑volume video processing and LLM applications. Lead the transition of research prototypes into reliable, production‑ready pipelines, ensuring performance, cost efficiency, and robust system architecture.
Expectations:
- Develop end‑to‑end AI solutions with a focus on throughput and cost control.
- Write clean, modular, type‑safe, and thoroughly tested code, even when using AI‑assisted coding tools.
- Collaborate across teams to integrate models into the core backend and maintain high service quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect and implement microservices for AI inference, handling video understanding and LLM workloads.
- Build and maintain production pipelines for model deployment, including data ingestion, prompt orchestration, and backend integration.
- Profile and optimize Python/C++ code and inference layers (quantization, batching, caching) to reduce GPU usage and latency.
- Convert research prototypes to production, performing rigorous testing, safety checks, and guardrail implementation.
- Design and maintain distributed systems, REST/gRPC APIs, asynchronous task queues, and database interactions.
- Manage Docker containers, CI/CD pipelines, and maintain deployment environments.
- Engage in continuous improvement of API performance and system resilience.
Required Skills:
- 3+ years as a Machine Learning or AI Engineer.
- Deep system design knowledge: distributed systems, APIs (REST/gRPC), task queues (Celery/Redis), vector stores.
- Proficiency in Python; C++ or JavaScript is a plus.
- Strong software engineering fundamentals: SOLID principles, unit testing, CI/CD, Docker.
- Experience with LLM deployment, prompt engineering, RAG workflows, and latency/cost tuning.
- Background in Video Understanding/Computer Vision, LLM fine‑tuning/RAG, or AI backend microservices.
- Excellent communication, ownership mindset, and self‑motivation.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
