Job Title: Software Engineering Leader – Simulation
Role Summary: Lead and scale a high‑performance simulation engineering team focused on reactor physics modeling, thermal‑hydraulics analysis, and Digital Twin development for portable nuclear microreactors. Define technical architecture, roadmap, and best practices while driving cross‑functional collaboration with hardware, nuclear, and electrical engineering groups.
Expectations: Deliver a robust, scalable simulation platform that enables rapid design, testing, and validation of reactor systems. Build and mentor a team of 5–10 simulation engineers, maintain technical depth, and manage technical debt. Provide strategic leadership in model tuning, numerical solvers, analytics, and data processing to support Mission‑critical internal simulation products.
Key Responsibilities:
- Recruit, develop, mentor, and retain simulation engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence.
- Own the simulation software architecture, design, and implementation for thermal, hydraulic, and nuclear models.
- Scale and maintain engineering infrastructure for Digital Twin, real‑time visualization, and data pipelines.
- Define and drive the technical roadmap for thermal and safety analysis simulation.
- Balance hands‑on code contributions with team leadership and architecture oversight.
- Ensure quality through code review, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and rigorous best practices.
- Collaborate cross‑functionally with Hardware, Nuclear, and Electrical teams to integrate software‑in‑the‑loop and hardware‑in‑the‑loop testing.
- Manage stakeholder communication, translating technical complexity for diverse audiences.
Required Skills:
- 7+ years of professional software engineering, with depth in simulation, scientific computing, or physics‑based modeling.
- 2+ years of people‑management experience leading engineering teams.
- Strong programming expertise in Python, Rust, C#, or C/C++.
- Proven experience with numerical solvers, visualization frameworks, and automated testing for scientific software.
- Deep knowledge of version control, code review, CI/CD, and software engineering best practices.
- Ability to balance hands‑on development with strategic leadership.
- Strong cross‑functional collaboration, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Physics, Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, or equivalent professional experience.
- Advanced degree (Master’s or Ph.D.) in a related field is preferred.
