Job Description: **Job Title:** Software Engineer **Role Summary:** Experienced Java developer to join an Agile Scrum team delivering cloud‑based geospatial software. Responsible for full‑lifecycle development, from design through testing and delivery, while maintaining high engineering standards in a secure, regulated environment. **Expectations:** - 12‑month contract (IR35) with 35 hours/week. - Participate actively in sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, and reviews. - Produce clear documentation and share knowledge with the team. **Key Responsibilities:** - Write clean, maintainable, high‑quality Java code. - Design, build, and maintain cloud services. - Develop unit tests and contribute to automated test coverage. - Participate in design discussions and conduct code reviews. - Collaborate within an Agile Scrum team to meet sprint objectives. - Document solutions and mentor peers as needed. **Required Skills:** - Strong commercial experience with Java. - Proven experience developing cloud‑based services. - Solid understanding of unit testing and software quality practices. - Comfortable working in Agile delivery environments. - Familiarity with DevSecOps tooling (e.g., Tekton, ArgoCD, SonarQube) – desirable. - Knowledge of container platforms (Kubernetes, Red Hat OpenShift) – desirable. - Experience with Quarkus framework – desirable. - Front‑end development using Angular – desirable. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
