Job Description: **Job title** AI Engineer – Founding Engineer **Role Summary** Lead the design, development, and production of AI‑powered features for a new product line. Own a greenfield initiative from concept through prototype to production, collaborating closely with the founder, product team, and customers to iterate quickly. **Expectations** - Deliver a production‑ready version of the AI product by the end of the first year. - Shape architecture, evaluate frontier AI models, and set up monitoring and evaluation pipelines. - Balance reliability with autonomous capabilities, making informed technical trade‑offs. - Communicate clearly through specifications, decision records, and concise technical explanations. **Key Responsibilities** - Design and implement backend AI services primarily in Python and AWS. - Prototype and ship AI features, integrating frontier models and tools. - Create evaluation frameworks for monitoring model performance and system quality. - Build agent architectures that meet reliability and autonomy requirements. - Collaborate with product and customers to refine feature sets and user experience. - Participate in code reviews, enforce test coverage, and maintain CI/CD pipelines. - Own technical decisions, assessing cost, feasibility, and alignment with product strategy. **Required Skills** - Strong software engineering fundamentals: system design, code reviews, testing, CI/CD. - Proven experience shipping production software and managing end‑to‑end delivery. - Proficiency in Python and AWS services. - Hands‑on experience with AI/ML models, evaluation, and deployment in production. - Familiarity with AI coding tools, including LLMs, automation frameworks, and model APIs. - Excellent written communication for specs, decisions, and technical documentation. - Ability to work rapidly in a startup environment, iterating with customer feedback. - Collaborative mindset, open to sharing ideas and providing constructive feedback. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - No mandatory certifications; relevant experience with AWS and AI/ML is essential.
