Job Description
**Job Title** Animal Agriculture Intern (8‑month Practicum) **Role Summary** Provide field and laboratory support for feedlot analytics, sample collection, NIR feed analysis, and regulatory documentation within an agricultural supply‑chain technology environment. **Expectations** - 8‑month paid internship. - Flexible schedule: core hours 9 a.m.–5 p.m. with occasional overtime, Saturdays, Sundays, and all‑weather work. - Physical duties up to 50 lb lifting and prolonged standing. - Short to medium distance driving (Class 5 licence required). **Key Responsibilities** 1. Conduct diagnostic necropsies and sample collection at client feedlot sites. 2. Scan, dry, and analyze feed samples using Near‑Infrared (NIR) technology. 3. Deliver pharmaceuticals and assist in clinical procedures. 4. Prepare and assist with regulatory work and compliance documentation. 5. Enter and manage feed data and related metadata in office systems. 6. Provide administrative support to internal teams as needed. 7. Drive to client locations and perform on‑site logistics. **Required Skills** - Current or recent enrollment in a Bachelor of Agriculture Technology (or related) program. - Fundamental knowledge of cattle production (preferred). - Class 5 driver’s licence; ability to drive daily trips. - Competent with Windows operating system and standard office software. - Physical stamina for lifting up to 50 lb and working in varied conditions. - Strong teamwork, communication, and adaptability to flexible schedules. **Required Education & Certifications** - Enrollment or recent graduation from the Bachelor of Agriculture Technology program at Lakeland College. - Class 5 driver’s licence.
