Job Description
Job Title: Hardware / Industrialisation & Prototyping Internship Role Summary Internship (6 months) focused on establishing and improving rapid prototyping and assembly capabilities for drones and related hardware. The role integrates into the hardware team, covering mechanical design, electronics integration, and workshop setup. Expectations - Completion of a 6‑month internship within an engineering program or Master’s degree. - Active participation in workshop design, tool selection, and safety organization. - Collaboration on the full product lifecycle from concept to first flight. Key Responsibilities - Design and implement electronic assembly area: workstation layout, tooling, ESD controls. - Setup and operate prototyping machines: FDM & SLS 3D printers, fabrication and finishing tools (deburring, adjustment, mechanical assembly). - Define manufacturing, post‑processing, and inspection procedures for printed parts. - Contribute to workshop spatial layout, ergonomics, and safety compliance. - Perform mechanical CAD modeling of parts and sub‑assemblies (aluminium, composites, plastics). - Assist in electronic design, board integration, and component selection for prototypes. - Conduct preliminary mechanical and electrical sizing (power, cable routes). - Build, assemble, and test prototypes, including functional flight trials. - Draft technical documentation: assembly guides, workshop procedures. Required Skills - Proficiency in CAD: Fusion 360, Inventor, or SolidWorks. - Strong foundation in mechanical fabrication, prototyping, and machining. - Basic expertise in electronics or mechatronics. - Familiarity with robot/drones, rapid prototyping, or similar fields is a plus. - Excellent attention to detail, quality focus, and organizational ability. Required Education & Certifications - Current enrollee in an engineering school or Master’s program (mechanical, electrical, mechatronics). - No specific certifications required.
