**Job Title:** Head of Cyber Security
**Role Summary:**
Lead the cyber security strategy and operations for a regional law firm, overseeing threat prevention, detection, response, and security architecture support. Manage a small in‑house security team, drive policy development, and ensure compliance with industry standards.
**Expectations:**
- Deliver proactive and reactive cyber defence across the firm’s digital estate.
- Maintain up‑to‑date threat intelligence and incident response plans.
- Coordinate security initiatives with IT, legal, and compliance departments.
- Provide clear communication on security posture to senior leadership.
**Key Responsibilities:**
- Develop and implement cyber security strategy, policies, and procedures.
- Lead incident detection, investigation, and remediation using Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Tessian, and Mimecast.
- Oversee security monitoring across Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, and Android environments.
- Manage identity and access controls in on‑premise and Azure Active Directory.
- Administer endpoint security via Group Policy, Azure Endpoint Manager.
- Maintain VMware virtual infrastructure security, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop/WEM, and networking controls.
- Conduct regular risk assessments, penetration testing, and security audits.
- Manage the cyber security team, delegating tasks and fostering professional development.
- Engage with external vendors and threat communities.
**Required Skills:**
- Expertise in Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, Tessian (Proofpoint), Mimecast, MS E5 Security Suite.
- Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills for Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS, Android, and network issues.
- Knowledge of VMware, Citrix XenApp/XenDesktop/WEM, and Azure AD, Group Policy, Endpoint Manager.
- Familiarity with IT Service Management (service delivery processes and incident management).
- Ability to interpret threat intelligence and adapt security controls accordingly.
**Required Education & Certifications:**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or related field.
- Relevant professional certifications (CISSP, CISM, CompTIA Security+, Microsoft Certified: Security, Compliance & Identity Fundamentals, or equivalent).
