Job Description
**Job Title** Bioinformatician **Role Summary** Apply, improve, and deliver bioinformatic algorithms and workflows for drug combination discovery in rare disease therapeutics. Collaborate with cross‑functional teams (pharmacology, cheminformatics, data engineering, machine learning) to generate in silico predictions that feed preclinical testing. Support the AI‑powered drug discovery platform and contribute to high‑impact research translating swiftly to clinical benefits. **Expectations** - Produce robust, reproducible code that is regularly reviewed and praised by peers. - Deliver algorithmic enhancements that are adopted into active preclinical discovery programmes. - Generate therapeutic hypotheses that demonstrate the highest likelihood of clinical and commercial success. **Key Responsibilities** 1. Apply and refine drug‑combination prediction models to propose novel therapeutic hypotheses for a portfolio of rare diseases. 2. Innovate and upgrade drug‑combination technologies and associated bioinformatic pipelines. 3. Maintain and optimize the AI Drug Discovery Platform in close partnership with the pre‑clinical team. 4. Collaborate closely with pharmacologists, biocurators, data engineers, and machine‑learning scientists to integrate computational outputs into experimental workflows. 5. Translate research insights into actionable code, pipelines, and documentation for immediate clinical utility. **Required Skills** - Proficiency in bioinformatics for multi‑omics, compound activity, and life‑science data analysis. - Strong programming in Python and R; experience with Nextflow pipeline development. - Hands‑on experience designing and implementing bioinformatic algorithms and workflows. - Familiarity with drug synergy, polypharmacology, or adverse event prediction models. - Knowledge of network biology, signalling pathway analysis, and gene‑set enrichment methods is a plus. - Understanding of software engineering best practices in a bioinformatics context. - Excellent collaboration, communication, and code‑review skills in multidisciplinary settings. **Required Education & Certifications** - Master’s or PhD in Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Genomics, or a related life‑sciences discipline. - Proven experience in a biotech or pharma bioinformatics role. - Demonstrated track record of algorithm development and publishing relevant biological research is desirable. ---
