Job Description
Job title: Civil Engineer Internship – Bridge Group Role Summary: A short‑term internship providing civil engineering students hands‑on experience in bridge design and construction support, with opportunities for rotational exposure within the transportation market. Expectations: - Work under guidance of licensed engineers on bridge design, modeling, and quality control. - Gain proficiency in engineering software (Civil3D, AutoCAD, MicroStation, Excel). - Participate in field inspections and project documentation. Key Responsibilities: - Assist in 3D modeling and design of bridge structures. - Support quality control processes and apply client design standards. - Conduct design calculations and geometric layout preparation. - Prepare plan quantities and cost estimates. - Participate in field assignments, including construction inspections. - Collaborate with multidisciplinary design teams and seek mentorship. Required Skills: - Proficient with AutoCAD; experience with Civil3D, MicroStation, and Excel preferred. - Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and organizational skills. - Effective verbal and written communication. - Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team. Required Education & Certifications: - Currently pursuing a BS or MS in Civil Engineering or a related accredited program. - Minimum of 2 completed years of study; GPA 2.7 or higher strongly preferred. - Experience with transportation or bridge projects, or related internships, is advantageous.
