Job Description
**Job Title:** Real Estate Development Intern **Role Summary:** Assist in the full lifecycle of multifamily, single-family, and commercial real estate projects, including acquisition, due diligence, financing, and local approval processes. Support budgeting and system development tasks within the Real Estate Development department, gaining comprehensive exposure to affordable housing and community development strategies. **Expectations:** - 12‑month internship, hourly wage $20.00. - Work under direct supervision; may be required for early mornings, evenings, and weekends. - Deliver timely project support, maintain confidentiality, and contribute to teamwork and project progress. **Key Responsibilities:** - Coordinate project tasks at all development phases. - Assist in site acquisition research, negotiation, and due diligence (title, environmental, entitlement). - Support coordination of local government reviews and approvals. - Aid selection and onboarding of development team members and consultants. - Contribute to securing acquisition, pre‑development, construction, and permanent financing (HUD, state agencies, local governments, private lenders). - Promote community development goals by encouraging participation of disadvantaged businesses and low‑income individuals. - Monitor project timelines and budgets, ensuring on‑time, on‑budget delivery. **Required Skills:** - Intermediate proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). - Basic real‑estate database knowledge. - Strong written and verbal communication, active listening, and problem‑solving skills. - Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a diverse team environment. - Flexibility to adapt to non‑standard hours as project demands arise. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Current Bachelor’s degree candidate (senior or final year) in Real Estate Development, Land Use Planning, General Construction, Affordable Housing, Finance, Community Development, or a closely related field. ---
