Job Description
Job title: NDT Development Lead Role Summary: Lead the development and mentoring of NDT technicians within a School of Excellence, ensuring compliance, equipment readiness, and competency growth while providing non-authoritative technical support to inspection teams. Expactations: Transition from full‑time site inspection to a coaching, training, and support role; maintain inspection standards and audit readiness; foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development. Key Responsibilities: - Manage day‑to‑day operations of the School of Excellence, keeping facilities, equipment, and consumables calibrated and compliant with ISO 9712/PCN rules. - Coordinate practical training, mock inspections, and skills development across MPI, DPI, UT, and RAD. - Mentor and coach technicians, trainees, and apprentices, facilitating confidence, consistency, and certification‑aligned competence. - Provide practical, non‑authoritative technical support to field teams, escalating issues to supervisors. - Produce and review inspection reports, maintain accurate training and certification records, and support management with documentation. - Uphold HSEQ policies, data confidentiality, and the Inspector Declaration, ensuring safety and impartiality. Required Skills: - Strong interpersonal and mentoring abilities - Clear, concise communication, both written and verbal - High attention to detail, procedural discipline, and organizational skills - Positive role‑model for safety, professionalism, and quality - Ability to work independently within certification limits and escalations as needed Required Education & Certifications: - Recognised NDT qualification aligned with BS EN ISO 9712/SNT‑TC‑1A - Desired: PCN/ASNT/CWIP Level 1 or Level 2 certification in one or more NDT disciplines.
