We have years of experience engineering fabrics - all powered by our Super Absorbent Fibres. A large portfolio of different fabric types that vary by fibre blend, thickness, absorption capability, tensile strength, laminated, unlaminated etc. - the list goes on - has now been developed. This work has been essential for us to really understand the potential of our unique fibre technology and its endless possibilities. It has also put us in the best position to advise customers who are looking for an absorbent fabric layer or component for their product.

We simply ask for as full of a brief as possible – we can put legals in place to allow for more open discussions – as this allows for a successful outcome to be achieved in a timely manner.

The addition of our sample library in recent years has assisted in streamlining development projects. It allows customers to undertake initial testing/trials and check certain parameters before deciding if a more bespoke solution is required.

Job Description

Job title: Undergraduate Product Development Technician (12‑Month Placement) Role Summary: Entry‑level placement focused on product development within an industrial nonwoven fabric manufacturing environment. The role involves developing test methods, supporting customer projects, benchmarking fabrics, and contributing to sustainability initiatives. Expectations: • Complete 12‑month placement with progress checks • Attend training, workshops, and industry events • Demonstrate growth in technical, communication, and project management skills • Provide accurate technical input to customers and internal teams. Key Responsibilities: • Develop and refine in‑house test methods for fabric capability assessment. • Liaise with commercial, marketing, production, and technical teams to support stage‑gate customer projects. • Benchmark internal and competitor fabrics for product development and improvement. • Provide technical advice to customer enquiries and fabric selection. • Identify and analyze sustainability opportunities within fabric and fiber development. • Present research findings, trial results, and data to internal stakeholders and external clients. Required Skills: • Strong analytical and data‑management skills. • Creative problem‑solving and hypothesis‑driven testing. • Excellent written and oral communication; ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences. • Collaborative team orientation with self‑stimulation for independent work. • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and basic CAD/software relevant to textile testing. • Basic understanding of sustainability metrics in manufacturing. Required Education & Certifications: • Current undergraduate or equivalent study in a STEM discipline (Engineering, Materials Science, Chemistry, Physics, etc.). • Bachelor's degree or progress toward degree required at placement completion. • No specific certifications required.
