Job Description: **Job Title** Front-End Engineer – Skillbridge Internship **Role Summary** Front‑End Engineer interns collaborate with developers, designers, and product owners to prototype, prototype, and deploy web applications for DoD missions. Working remotely, interns support software development, testing, and deployment in unclassified and classified environments, contributing to readiness, logistics, and sensor technology solutions. **Expectations** - Maintain active U.S. national security clearance (or ability to obtain one). - Work 40 hours per week, primarily remote, with occasional travel to customer or subcontractor sites. - Participate in a SkillBridge fellowship designed to transition military service members into full‑time roles. **Key Responsibilities** - Rapidly prototype and demonstrate technical software and hardware solutions. - Research and evaluate new technologies, frameworks, and tools. - Coordinate solution design and architecture with product teams. - Analyze technical alternatives and document key decisions. - Support development, test, build, and deployment of applications to DOD production environments. **Required Skills** - 2+ years professional software development experience or a computer‑science/engineering degree. - Proficiency with Git, CI/CD workflows, and modern application architecture. - Ability to make and document architecture decisions. - Strong learning aptitude and pragmatic problem‑solving. **Desired Skills** - Deployment experience on DOD platforms (e.g., Platform One Big Bang). - Professional use of React or similar JavaScript frameworks. - Experience with TypeScript, Java, or web‑compatible languages. - Familiarity with asynchronous/concurrent programming and data mesh/fabric concepts. - Geospatial visualization, logging/auditing, and network integration experience. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience). - Active U.S. national security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
