Job Description

**Job Title:** Senior Frontend Developer **Role Summary** Design, develop, and maintain high‑performance web interfaces for Backstage’s Payments Workstream. Drive architectural decisions, implement new features from concept to release, and ensure quality through iterative delivery and code reviews, while collaborating across product, design, and back‑end teams. **Expectations** - Work independently as an individual contributor with full ownership of implementation decisions. - Deliver incrementally with zero blocking to the rest of the team. - Operate autonomously under a Kanban process, meeting project milestones and deadlines. - Maintain consistent, high‑quality code, adhering to QA and review standards. - Communicate clearly with technical and non‑technical stakeholders. **Key Responsibilities** - Partner with product, marketing, BI, and design to build usable, responsive desktop and mobile web interfaces. - Design engineering plans and technology roadmaps for new features. - Leverage TypeScript and React (including custom hooks) to build complex applications. - Shape frontend architecture and context‑aware rendering strategies (SSR, SSG, CSR). - Build and maintain payment workflows, checkout forms, and Stripe integrations. - Translate user feedback into functional specifications and reliable releases. - Maintain shared codebases and infrastructure; collaborate on cross‑team components. - Coordinate with back‑end engineers for end‑to‑end experiences. - Practice continuous deployment, iterating on live products without service disruption. **Required Skills** - Advanced proficiency in TypeScript and React; expertise in custom hooks, state‑management, and data‑fetching patterns. - Understanding of SSR/SSG/client‑side rendering trade‐offs. - Experience with build tooling (Webpack, ESLint, npm/yarn). - Proven track record of delivering large‑scale public web features from scratch. - Strong project‑management and organizational abilities; delivery across disciplines. - Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to articulate to diverse audiences. - Comfortable throughout the entire SDLC in an Agile/Kanban environment. - Collaborative, adaptive, and able to navigate a mature codebase. - Familiarity with Python/Django is a plus. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience. - No specific certifications required.
