**Job Title**
Senior Data Engineer
**Role Summary**
Design, build, and maintain a Snowflake‑based Data Lakehouse that supports trading, finance, marketing, and compliance analytics, including regulatory reporting. Own end‑to‑end data pipelines, governance, and performance across the data lifecycle.
**Expectations**
* Deliver a production‑ready Lakehouse architecture and foundational ETL/ELT pipelines within the initial release cycle.
* Establish automated CI/CD workflows for data operations.
* Ensure data quality, lineage, security, and compliance with FCA and GDPR.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Architect and develop a Snowflake-centric Data Lakehouse integrating structured, semi‑structured, and unstructured data.
- Build robust ETL/ELT pipelines that ingest data from trading, CRM, finance, risk systems and external APIs.
- Model data using star/snowflake schemas, define transformation frameworks, and enforce versioning and governance.
- Implement data validation, cataloging, documentation standards, and monitor query performance and storage efficiency.
- Collaborate with Trading, Finance, Marketing, and Compliance teams to capture requirements and deliver scalable solutions.
- Provide technical guidance and support for regulatory, management, and operational reporting.
**Required Skills**
- 5–8 years of data engineering experience, with proven expertise in Snowflake and Delta Lakehouse architecture.
- Advanced SQL and data‑modelling (star, snowflake, dimensional).
- Python (or equivalent scripting language) for data integration and automation.
- Knowledge of orchestration (Airflow, dbt, etc.) and transformation frameworks.
- Experience integrating SQL/NoSQL databases and external APIs as data sources.
- Strong understanding of data governance, lineage, security, FCA and GDPR compliance.
- Excellent communication and ability to translate business requirements into technical designs.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, or related field.
- Additional certifications in Snowflake, data architecture, or relevant cloud platforms are a plus.
