Job title: Senior Manager, Supply Chain Transportation
Role Summary: Lead the end‑to‑end procurement, execution, and governance of transportation for North America and EMEA, driving cost efficiency, reduced lead times, and superior customer experience through strategic planning, data analysis, and partnership management.
Expectations: Deliver continuous improvement and operational excellence; build high‑performing global teams; manage annual budgets, financial reporting, and carrier performance; adapt to changing business demands and industry trends; maintain compliance with global trade certifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, develop, and coach a distributed team of transportation professionals.
- Design and execute region‑specific transportation strategies aligned with sales, marketing, supply chain, operations, IT, and finance.
- Analyze performance metrics, identify cost‑reduction and process‑optimization opportunities, and implement network redesigns.
- Own carrier relationships: conduct supplier reviews, performance assessments, RFP/RFQ processes, contract negotiations, and administration.
- Track, report, and enforce KPI compliance with carriers and internal stakeholders.
- Prepare and manage annual budgets, quarterly simulations, and financial business cases.
- Maintain and support trade compliance (C‑TPAT, CSI, CCP, AEO, etc.).
- Benchmark, adopt, and implement best‑in‑class tools and capabilities for market advantage.
Required Skills:
- 10+ years of leadership in domestic and international transportation, including 3PL/4PL freight ops.
- Strong coaching, people‑development, and inclusive team‑building capabilities.
- Analytical mindset with root‑cause problem solving and data‑driven decision making.
- Expert in last‑mile delivery, global/regional logistics, procurement, and vendor management.
- Negotiation skills for carrier contracts at regional, national, and international levels.
- Proficiency in transportation systems, reporting, and tools to enable operational visibility.
- Excellent cross‑functional communication, stakeholder alignment, and business‑growth focus.
- Self‑starter capable of driving projects independently amid ambiguity.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations, Supply Chain, or related field (MBA or equivalent experience preferred).
- Certifications in supply chain or logistics (if available) such as CSCS, CBP, CPIM, or equivalent.
Up to 30% travel required.
