About the Company

CORE POWER is building scalable new nuclear technologies for ocean transport and heavy industry. In partnership with leading international corporations, CORE POWER will deliver durable zero-emission energy from Floating Nuclear Power Plants (FNPP) and nuclear-powered ships.

Over the next few decades as many as 60,000 ships must transition from combustion of fossil fuels to zero-emission propulsion. The UN’s maritime agency IMO has mandated with unanimous approval from 197 countries that shipping must reduce emissions by 50% of the 2008 total, before 2050. This means an actual emission reduction of almost 90%, by 2050.

With new nuclear technologies now being developed, shipping can achieve that goal, by producing green sustainable fuels for the smaller ships and powering the largest ships directly.

Zero emissions will come as standard.

New nuclear for maritime can have an economic potential which is greater than that of oil and gas today. It can provide all the sustainable, clean energy we need to move us deep into the future without polluting the environment.

Job Description

Job title: Software Engineer Role Summary: Develop and maintain customer‑facing web applications and internal tools, focusing on UX, performance, reliability and automation to improve company operations. Expectations: Deliver high‑quality, scalable code; collaborate with senior engineers, IT, designers, and stakeholders; apply automated testing; use Git and code reviews; monitor and resolve issues; contribute to continuous improvement and automation initiatives. Key Responsibilities: - Enhance and maintain the company website (React/TypeScript) for performance, visual quality, and new features. - Design, develop, and support internal tools and automation workflows (Python/Django). - Write and run automated tests (pytest for backend, Playwright for frontend). - Integrate with third‑party services via APIs and webhooks. - Participate in cross‑functional workshops, propose technical solutions, and capture user feedback. - Utilize logging, monitoring, and performance tuning to ensure system health. - Work with designers to evolve the design system and reusable UI components. Required Skills: - Full‑stack development experience with React, TypeScript, Django/Django REST Framework, and Python. - Strong JavaScript/TypeScript coding and modern front‑end practices. - Proficiency in automated testing (pytest, Playwright or equivalent). - Git version control expertise and code‑review participation. - Familiarity with APIs, webhooks, and third‑party integrations. - Ability to build automation scripts, dashboards, or integrations for workflow improvement. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Experience: 2+ years in web development and internal tooling/automation projects.
