Job Description: Job Title: Senior Software Engineer Role Summary: Lead backend development for quantum sensor solutions, translate physics algorithms into production software, deploy machine learning models, establish engineering best practices, and mentor future hires. Expectations: Own end‑to‑end backend services, implement physics‑based algorithms, integrate ML pipelines, set coding and DevOps standards, collaborate cross‑functionally, and contribute to team growth in a fast‑moving startup environment. Key Responsibilities - Design, build, and scale scalable backend services in Python on AWS. - Translate complex physics and signal‑processing algorithms into efficient, production‑ready code. - Deploy, monitor, and maintain machine learning models and data‑science pipelines. - Establish coding standards, unit/integration testing, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices. - Collaborate closely with physicists, data scientists, hardware engineers, and product teams to align theory and practice. - Recruit, onboard, mentor, and develop new engineering talent. - Communicate technical direction and progress to founders and stakeholders. Required Skills - Strong backend engineering experience, proficient in Python and AWS cloud services. - Demonstrated ability to implement algorithms rooted in physics or scientific computation. - Hands‑on experience deploying ML models or data‑science pipelines to production. - Familiarity with distributed systems, scalable architecture, and microservices. - Solid knowledge of CI/CD, automated testing, and DevOps tooling. - Excellent communication, collaboration, and cross‑functional coordination. - Self‑starter mindset, comfortable in a startup or early‑stage environment. Required Education & Certifications - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Physics, or related STEM field. - Relevant certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Developer, AWS Certified Solutions Architect) preferred but not mandatory.
