Job Description
Job Title: PBX Installer Role Summary: Lead end‑to‑end delivery of large‑scale voice and collaboration infrastructure for premise‑based PBX and VoIP installations. Manage project lifecycle, develop specifications, execute on‑site deployments, test new solutions, and coordinate with vendors and internal teams. Expectations: - Deliver projects on time and within budget. - Communicate results to end users and support teams. - Mentor junior team members and act as onsite liaison. - Maintain high standards of quality, safety, and customer service. Key Responsibilities: - Translate business requirements into detailed design specifications for PBX and VoIP systems. - Manage project lifecycle from initiation through close‑out, including documentation and hand‑off to support. - Develop and execute test plans for new VoIP network elements and services. - Collaborate with vendors to evaluate and implement new components. - Interface with internal departments to ensure coordinated delivery. - Lead onsite teams for large‑scale voice deployments (premise‑based PBX, SIP/VoIP). - Serve as primary customer contact during installations. - Troubleshoot and resolve complex voice and VoIP issues. - Ensure compliance with telco standards (PRI, DID, POTS, GSM/LS/SIP, MPLS, VLAN, QoS). Required Skills: - 5+ years PBX voice support in mid‑to‑large organization. - Experience with premise‑based PBX platforms (preferably Mitel); knowledge of large analog frames and MDF/IDF wiring. - Proficiency in VoIP technologies, SIP, QoS, MPLS, VLAN, Multicast. - Ability to use CLI, Ethernet, and command‑line tools. - Strong project management, documentation, and communication skills. - Leadership experience deploying voice systems on site (hospitality/hospital environments). - Valid driver’s license; clear record; up to 85% travel.
