**Job Title:** Dental Biller **Role Summary:** The Dental Biller manages the end‑to‑end billing process for a dental practice, ensuring accurate claim submission to payers, timely resolution of disputes, and effective accounts receivable management. The role requires in‑depth knowledge of dental coding (DPT-4, ICD‑10‑CM), payer guidelines, and electronic health record systems, along with strong analytical and communication skills. **Expectations:** - Work independently with minimal supervision. - Maintain high reliability, punctuality, and attendance. - Demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication. - Adapt quickly to payer updates, system enhancements, and regulatory changes. **Key Responsibilities:** - Process daily dental claims using software and automated work queues. - Assign accurate DPT‑4 and ICD‑10‑CM codes to procedures and diagnoses. - Review claim edit reports, identify recurring errors, and implement quality improvements. - Analyze billing trends for A/R by specialty, payer, and provider to increase efficiency. - Resolve claim denials and edits, working with payers and patients to secure prompt payment. - Verify patient insurance coverage, obtain authorizations, and update account information. - Generate and distribute patient statements, invoices, and service reports. - Communicate billing status and updates to management and cross‑functional teams. - Maintain compliance with FQHC billing requirements and regulatory standards. - Provide training and support to frontline staff on billing procedures and system use. **Required Skills:** - Comprehensive understanding of dental and medical terminology. - Proficiency in electronic and manual claims processing. - Knowledge of payer billing guidelines and reimbursement practices for primary care settings. - Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities. - Priority setting and independent work ethic. - Effective communication in written and oral form. -Computer literacy: proficiency in PCs, office software, and electronic health record systems. **Required Education & Certifications:** - High‑school graduate or equivalent (Bachelor’s degree preferred). - Certifications may include Certified Dental Biller (CDB) or similar, but not mandatory.
