**Job title**
Freelance – Finance Controller (IT)
**Role Summary**
Provide independent financial governance for the company’s digital and IT initiatives. Design and monitor annual and multi‑year budgets, forecast IT spend (CapEx, OpEx, cloud, SaaS), and deliver data‑driven analysis to guide strategic decisions. Act as the financial bridge among IT, Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Digital teams, ensuring alignment with corporate strategy and regulatory compliance.

- Deliver accurate, timely financial reporting and forecasts.
- Work autonomously as a consultant while collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams.
- Maintain a high degree of precision and integrity in all financial analyses.
**Key Responsibilities**
- Develop and drive annual and multi‑year budgets for digital initiatives.
- Forecast average annual rates for asset amortisation and project future digital‑tool costs.
- Monitor recurring expenses (SaaS licences, cloud consumption, etc.) and propose optimisation actions.
- Identify and analyse budget deviations; recommend corrective actions.
- Produce regular financial reports for Digital, Finance, and senior management.
- Analyse ROI of digital investments (marketing automation, AI tools, etc.).
- Support decision‑making with quantitative, data‑driven insights.
- Collaborate with Digital, Finance, Procurement, and Legal to translate technical needs into financial terms.
- Assist in vendor selection, contract negotiations, and financial compliance of agreements.
- Ensure digital spend complies with internal policies and external regulations; contribute to audits.
- Model financial impact of digital strategy scenarios and identify associated risks.
- Implement or integrate financial tools with digital platforms (ERP, Jira, ServiceNow).
- Automate reporting and data‑collection processes where possible.
- Evaluate financial feasibility of emerging technologies (AI, blockchain) and prioritise investments.
**Required Skills**
- Minimum 5 years experience in finance control within an IT context.
- Strong understanding of IT cost structures (CapEx vs OpEx) and cloud pricing models (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Proven ability to design cost‑allocation methods for shared IT services.
- Advanced Excel (pivot tables, macros) and data‑visualisation skills (PowerBI, Qlik, Tableau).
- Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis.
- Familiarity with IT concepts (networks, servers, cybersecurity, DevOps).
- Ability to negotiate contracts, evaluate vendor proposals, and manage renewals.
- Knowledge of audit standards and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent written and verbal communication in French and English.
- Strong analytical mindset with the ability to spot trends, anomalies and opportunities.
- Team‑player who can empathise with technical stakeholders and translate requirements into financial terms.
**Required Education & Certifications**
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Professional certifications such as CMA, CPA, CFA, or equivalent preferred.
- Continuous learning in emerging IT finance practices is highly valued.
