Job title: Azure Infrastructure and Operations Customer Engineer
Role Summary:
Senior, customer‑facing engineer responsible for guiding enterprise customers through modernizing, scaling, and operating Azure IaaS environments. Provides expertise on compute, networking, storage, resiliency, security, governance, and cost optimization, and delivers workshops, assessments, and strategic consulting to achieve operational excellence.
Expectations:
- Deliver technical enablement and advisory services to IT and business leaders.
- Drive Azure adoption, migration, and optimization initiatives at scale.
- Design and validate resilient, secure, high‑performance Azure solutions that meet business objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct enablement workshops and training on Azure IaaS migration, Azure Arc, and PowerShell automation.
- Facilitate in‑depth product reviews and “chalk talk” sessions on hybrid architecture, automation patterns, and governance.
- Perform infrastructure health checks & performance, security, and compliance assessments for Azure environments.
- Review operational implementations to ensure availability, automation, and cost efficiencies.
- Advise on Azure Virtual Machine, VM Scale Set, & compute‑intensive workload design for scalability and cost optimization.
- Guide networking strategy (VNETs, NSGs, Load Balancers, VPN/ExpressRoute) for connectivity and security.
- Design Azure Storage solutions (Blob, File, Managed Disks) for performance, durability, and redundancy.
- Develop Azure Backup and Site Recovery (ASR) plans for resiliency and disaster recovery.
- Recommend modernization paths from legacy to cloud‑native or hybrid models.
- Advise on technical governance, block‑er resolution, and acceleration of Azure consumption.
- Collaborate with Microsoft teams, partners, and stakeholders to deliver business‑driven outcomes.
Required Skills:
- Deep expertise in Azure IaaS (VMs, VMSS, Arc), networking (VNET, NSG, LB, ExpressRoute, VPN), storage (Blob, File, Managed Disks), backup (Azure Backup, ASR), and resiliency.
- Strong knowledge of security & management tools: RBAC, Azure Monitor, Azure Policy, Defender for Cloud.
- Familiarity with Well‑Architected Framework, Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF), and cost‑management practices.
- Excellent communication skills for presenting complex technical concepts to executive and technical audiences.
- Proven experience in leading migration, modernization, and operational excellence projects at enterprise scale.
Required Education & Certifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related IT discipline.
- Most relevant Microsoft Azure certifications (e.g., Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or Azure Infrastructure Engineer Associate).
Total experience:
- Minimum 10 years overall IT experience with at least 7 years in Azure infrastructure engineering or equivalent cloud roles.
