Job Description

**Job Title:** Director of Application Engineering **Role Summary:** Lead the application engineering organization to deliver silicon design, verification, and implementation support for proteanTecs customers across the US. Drive customer training, pre‑sales engagement, and cross‑functional collaboration with R&D to integrate new features into the product portfolio. **Expectations:** - Manage a high‑performing team of Application Engineers. - Mentor team members and facilitate skill development in advanced silicon design workflows. - Ensure the delivery of excellent customer support and training. - Align engineering initiatives with product strategy and customer requirements. **Key Responsibilities:** - Oversee all customer support activities, including training, troubleshooting, and pre‑sales presentations. - Coordinate with R&D to identify, implement, and verify new features for silicon IPs and monitoring tools. - Track customer usage of proteanTecs IPs and tools; handle tape‑out checklists and sign‑off procedures. - Analyze EDA tool logs and develop scripts (Perl/Tcl/Python) to automate diagnostics and reporting. - Engage with customers to educate them on solutions, gather requirements, and drive new product adoption. **Required Skills:** - 8+ years of RTL‑to‑GDS silicon design experience (physical design, timing, power, power‑gate, area). - In‑depth knowledge of complete design flows, sign‑off, and tape‑out processes. - Proficiency with Cadence and Synopsys toolsets (e.g., Innovus, IC Compiler). - Strong scripting ability in Perl, Tcl, or Python for EDA log analysis. - Demonstrated experience managing technical teams and delivering customer‑facing solutions. - Excellent communication, customer‑orientation, and team‑collaboration skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
