**Job title** Senior Systems Director – Apex Legends **Role Summary** Lead the strategic design of player progression, economy, and social engagement systems for Apex Legends. Direct long‑term system vision, mentor a high‑performance design team, and collaborate across product, creative, and UX disciplines to deliver scalable, high‑quality live‑service experiences. **Expactations** - 10+ years in game systems design with 3+ years leading design teams in AAA or comparable mobile titles. - Deep understanding of progression, reward, level, challenge, and monetization systems. - Expertise in documenting high‑ and low‑level design artifacts (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio). - Strong communication skills, able to translate complex ideas into actionable plans for cross‑functional stakeholders. - Passion for online gaming and broad game‑industry knowledge. **Key Responsibilities** - Define and execute long‑term system design strategy for Progression, Economy, and Social features. - Translate overall game vision into system design intent that drives player engagement and retention. - Mentor and grow a design team to achieve industry‑leading quality and impact. - Partner with Product Management, Creative Leads, and UX/UI (XD) to ensure systems align with game goals and provide a cohesive player experience. - Deliver architecture and specifications for XP, leveling, challenges, reward, and monetization integration. - Reverse engineer competitive titles to identify and incorporate best‑practice industry systems. - Create and maintain comprehensive design documentation to support development, testing, and future iterations. **Required Skills** - Proven experience designing sophisticated progression, reward, and monetization systems for AAA or high‑quality mobile games. - Leadership skills: coaching, decision‑making, and fostering collaboration across multidisciplinary teams. - Proficiency in design documentation tools (PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Visio). - Excellent written and verbal communication. - Ability to work in fast‑changing, high‑pressure live‑service environments. **Required Education & Certifications** - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Game Design, or related field **or** equivalent professional experience. - No specific certifications required, but a demonstrable portfolio of successful systems design leadership is essential.
