**Job Title** Database Administrator Intern **Role Summary** Provide hands‑on support for database operations in a creative music‑industry environment. Monitor performance, conduct backups, cleanse and standardize data, optimize SQL queries, manage security, assist with data modeling, and bridge QA activities. Contribute to application‑backend integration using C# and GitHub. **Expectations** - Internship duration: 3–6 months, unpaid. - Part‑time: 10–20 hours per week, remote and flexible. - Primary goal: acquire practical database administration and QA skills for academic credit. - Work is for training purposes only and does not replace any employee positions. **Key Responsibilities** - Monitor database performance and enforce high availability. - Perform regular backups, restoration drills, and data integrity checks. - Cleanse and standardize artist metadata, licensing rights, and user records. - Write and refine SQL queries to improve mobile‑app response times. - Manage user permissions, apply security patches, and safeguard sensitive data. - Support data model development and database architecture modifications. - Act as a QA liaison, executing database tests to ensure stable app releases. - Develop basic C# scripts to translate backend logic and streamline app–DB interactions. - Use GitHub for version control, pull/push code, and maintain script consistency. **Required Skills** *Technical* - Basic–intermediate SQL (MySQL, PostgreSQL, or SQL Server). - Familiarity with cloud‑based database services. - Experience with version control (Git/GitHub). - Ability to write simple C# scripts for backend tasks. *Soft* - Strong communication and teamwork. - Independent problem‑solving and analytical mindset. - Excellent organization, time management, and attention to detail. - Collaboration across cross‑functional departments. **Required Education & Certifications** - Current enrollment in or recent completion of a degree or program in Computer Science, Information Technology, Data Management, or a related field. - No specific certifications required; coursework in database administration, SQL, and cloud services is preferred.
