Job Description
Job title: HR Generalist Role Summary: Administers and coordinates all human resources functions for a manufacturing facility, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations while maintaining proactive employee relations and a union‑free status. Supports recruitment, onboarding, performance management, benefits, policy development, and labor relations, and maintains accurate HRIS records. Expectations: - High integrity and discretion in handling confidential personnel matters. - Initiative, strong time‑management, and organizational skills to manage multiple HR tasks simultaneously. - Team‑oriented mindset with effective interpersonal communication, both verbal and written. - Ability to enforce fair, consistent practices and contribute to continuous improvement of HR services. Key Responsibilities: - Recruit, screen, and onboard hourly and salaried staff; manage job postings and candidate communications. - Conduct new‑hire orientation; facilitate employee development and training programs. - Administer performance review processes and performance improvement plans. - Manage leave administration, including FMLA, and oversee annual benefits open enrollment and compensation surveys. - Organize employee events, recognition programs, exit interviews, and training documentation. - Maintain HR policies, procedures, and documentation; ensure compliance with federal and state employment laws (DOL, FMLA, HIPAA, COBRA). - Support plant’s collective bargaining agreement administration and labor relations initiatives. - Maintain accurate personnel records in HRIS (ADP EV6, WF Manager) and provide administrative support across HR functions. - Assist in developing departmental goals, objectives, and process improvements. Required Skills: - Knowledge of FMLA, HIPAA, COBRA, and DOL guidelines; familiarity with federal and state employment regulations. - Proficiency in HRIS systems (e.g., ADP, WF Manager) and Microsoft Office Suite. - Strong written and verbal communication; effective presentation skills. - Excellent interpersonal skills, able to build positive employee relations. - Project management abilities; capable of handling multiple priorities and deadlines. - Confidentiality and ethical judgment when dealing with sensitive information. Required Education & Certifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field. - Minimum of 1 year of HR experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment. - HR credential (e.g., HRCI PHR, SHRM-CP) is an advantage but not mandatory.
