Job Description

**Job Title:** FTC Test Automation Engineer **Role Summary:** Design, develop, and maintain automated and manual test solutions for complex software and hardware products, integrating testing into CI/CD pipelines and ensuring high‑quality delivery within a secure, regulated environment. **Expectations:** - Deliver reliable automated test frameworks and scripts. - Ensure test coverage, defect tracking, and reporting meet project standards. - Collaborate effectively with engineering, DevOps, and product teams. - Maintain compliance with security clearance and regulated‑environment requirements. **Key Responsibilities:** - Create and maintain test automation frameworks (Robot Framework, Selenium, Cucumber). - Write and execute functional, integration, regression, and manual test cases. - Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines (e.g., GitLab CI). - Perform root‑cause analysis, log defects, and support resolution. - Produce clear test documentation, metrics, and coverage reports. - Monitor test execution, track defect trends, and suggest process improvements. - Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices and toolsets. **Required Skills:** - Proven experience in automated and manual testing of complex systems. - Hands‑on with Robot Framework, Selenium, Appium, or Cucumber. - Strong scripting in Python and Bash. - CI/CD integration experience (GitLab CI or similar). - Source control proficiency (Git, SVN). - Linux environment knowledge. - Understanding of networking fundamentals (IP, routing, subnetting). - Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes. - Strong analytical, documentation, and problem‑solving abilities. - Excellent communication and teamwork skills. **Required Education & Certifications:** - Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience. - British citizenship with SC‑level security clearance (DV desirable). - ISTQB certification or equivalent (desirable). - Additional experience with hardware/embedded testing, performance/security testing, or languages such as C/C++, Rust, Go is a plus.
